Bronchitis and other fun

This has somehow turned into a chronologue of our medical travails. I promise that soon everyone will be better and we focus on some fun stuff. The blog has been quiet because I have had a terrible case of bronchitis which frankly is just the icing on the cake around here. As soon as I feel human again, I will be a regular blogger.

For now, here is my LO with a ton of goodies from the new TDC designer, Jana McCarthy. I was really impressed with the quality and realism of the two kits I used. This LO about Elizabeth at the Little Zoo this summer was fun to create. She was thrilled with it...and that is the most important part. It was a GSO today at DST and that seemed to thrill her as well. For some reason, I think she believes it makes her famous! :)

Shameless Plug

My good friend Jodie McNally is now an official word artist at Oscraps!! Check out this great pack she made to with Vicki Stegall's Rock On Mega Kit.

In order to do the word art justice, I had to grab a pic from my friend Denise. Her son is a really talented guitar player, so she had the perfect shot for my layout.

A Scrap down memory lane

I posted a LO yesterday at DST that had pics of Elizabeth taken just before her 1st birthday.

She really was a beautiful baby...though I might be a bit biased! Looking at those pictures made it even harder to believe that she is going to be 10 this year. The pics are so special to me because one of my best friends took them. Anyways, it was nice to see this LO in the Gallery Standouts thread!

No...really!

The last six weeks have been pretty rough around here. Right after Christmas, Julia got the stomach flu and was terribly sick for a week. We had to cancel our trip to Disney World as a result. Then, Elizabeth was diagnosed with mono. As if that wasn't enough...last night I came home from a bit of much-needed relaxation with my girlfriends to find Leo pacing and in major distress. I took him to the emergency vet at midnight because I suspected that he had bloat. They took x-rays and said it hadn't progressed to that point yet, thankfully, but he needed two shots to relieve the pain and pressure. Bloat is a scary illness that can kill a dog very quickly. Leo is at high-risk because of being a male GSD, even though he eats high-quality food and uses and elevated feeder. So, I didn't get much sleep last night. Nothing new there, but it did cause me to lose my voice. Kevin said I sound like Minnie Mouse today. I guess there are worse things...

My Favorite Day

Thursday really is my favorite day of the week because that is when the angel, otherwise known as Carmen, comes to clean my house! Of course, with two kids and a German Shedder, uh..I mean Shepherd, I clean every day! On Thursdays, though, the whole house is clean AT THE SAME TIME! For those two hours when Julia is still napping and Elizabeth is at school (usually), I savor the peace, quiet & cleanliness.

I posted this LO today, with a beautiful new collab called Spring Inspiration from Cinzia Loosemore and Chere Kaye. They are guest designers at TDC this month. The kit is just gorgeous and perfect for the photo of Jules and me. Kevin took it at Powell Gardens over the summer, a totally unguarded moment between mother & daughter. I am really happy with how the LO came together. It was a Gallery Standout at DST today, so I guess some other people liked it too!

Sickness, Snow and Scrapping

Elizabeth is home recovering from Mono. It has been a hard two weeks for all us, but I think she is starting to improve. We are hoping that in two (more!) weeks, she will be able to return to school. Thankfully, she's an A student, otherwise, I think it would be even harder to go back. The only bright spot in her illness is that Julia has really enjoyed having "sissy" home with her.

We had a bit of snow last night, which I never mind since I grew up in the Snow Belt. It shuts everything down here in KC and causes a ton of accidents. The drivers here just don't know how to handle it! Despite the cold, we are finally seeing some progress at the new house. They poured the basement on Monday when it was 68 degrees. I hope they start the framing soon. We're all soooo ready to move!

I did get some scrapping done:

Finally!

I've put this off as long as I can, but today is the today! It's time for me to blog!
